To follow up about the vandalism/theft at St. Marks...
One of our Trustees had given some metal samples to local recycling, scrap yards to alert them that our copper pipes had been stolen. Well, the rocket scientist who did this showed up at a local establishment this morning to sell the scrap copper he took from our building. While they were processing his 'order' they called the police and a person from St. Marks to verify that it was our's. It was. The fool who did the vandalism and robbery was arrested. We ended up with the money for the scrap copper, which, of course, is less than it will be to repair the damages.
I do delight, however, that they arrested the fool.

John,
As sorry as I am for the damage done to your facility I'm equally as concerned that with our current economy, we are just seeing the tip of this iceberg.
I further think we can lay the blame for the most part at the feet of our elected officials from the local level thru Indianapolis all the way to Washington DC.
Having said that, we and we alone are to blame.
We adamantly refuse to participate in the process of government by not voting, by not attending public government meetings, and by not speaking out enmass when we have the chance!
God or not, we have in this country, been given the unique opportunity to govern ourselves by verbally expressing to our elected representatives how we desire our communities, states, and country as a whole to function and look.
Standing idle & silent as we watch it disintergrate around us is not a viable solution.
We must get over the distaste of appearing political and let our voices be heard!!
By the way, I'm glad the theif was apprehended and I hope you folks and the prosecutor persue the highest punishment allowed by law.
